How does Zixty Miles carbon offsetting work?
When you activate Zixty Miles, the app will record data from the trips you take while on cover. We look at environmental aspects of your driving and provide a trip by trip eco score and calculate the carbon dioxide emissions for each trip.
The eco score is based on your average speeds and how hard you brake and accelerate. Smoother driving uses less fuel so generates less emissions which is good for the environment. If you drive smoothly and at moderate speeds you will achieve the highest scores.
We calculate your carbon emissions based on your vehicle emissions, the journey length and how you drive.
We offset up to 100 miles of driving per day your policy lasts, which is based on an average driving score of 5/10. If you drive better than average, we’ll offset more carbon than you generated making your trip carbon negative - nice!
