Can I request that you delete all of my data?

If you have purchased a policy we will need to keep the data that relates to the period of your policy for 7 years. If you haven’t had a policy then we can delete your data and close your account on request. We do reserve the right to retain anonymised data. To request data deletion, please use the customer services chat feature in the app or from the zixty.com web site.

Why will Zixty not give me a quote?

Sorry that we couldn’t give you a quote this time. We work closely with our insurer partners to be able to offer quotes wherever possible. However, the insurers do have certain instances, often based on address; occupation; age; licence; and vehicles where they are not prepared to offer quotes.

Zixty Miles

Zixty Miles is an innovative feature of the Zixty insurance app that provides you with multiple benefits. We are the only short-term insurer to offset your mileage to minimise the impact of your driving on the environment.

The Zixty Miles benefits are:

A tree planted on sign up to Zixty miles
We offset the carbon generated from your trips by planting trees
We'll provide you with helpful eco-driving tips to get more from your tank and generate less CO2
We automatically notify you if we think an accident has occurred to help assist with a claim
Coming soon - future policy discounts/benefits

In order to switch Zixty Miles on, you need to enable it in app settings OR when buying a policy. The app will then ask for access to your location including activity tracking. You'll need to say yes to all these permissions including allowing access all the time - this is so the app can automatically capture your driving to calculate the carbon offset and eco-feedback.

Once Zixy Miles is switched on, the app will wake up during your Zixty policy and check to see if you are driving. During each trip we record your GPS location data each second, and your accelerometer, gyro and magnetometer data 100 times a second. At the end of each trip, this data is uploaded to Zixty servers and converted into your carbon offset numbers and eco driver feedback.

Question 5

I am borrowing a vehicle from a friend, who needs to take out the insurance?

Accepted Answer

The person that will be borrowing and driving the vehicle needs to take out the policy. The person lending the vehicle will be advised when the policy has been set up by their email address which you will need to provide. You must have the consent of the vehicle owner to take out cover with Zixty.

Question 6

Can I drive the vehicle if I cannot see it on the Motor Insurance Database (MID)?

Accepted Answer

It can take up to 48 hours for the vehicle to be updated on to the MID. Your Zixty policy cover starts on the date and time shown within your policy documents. Your cover is valid even if the vehicle is not showing.
